Dielectric mirrors
Dielectric film planar mirror is a kind of optical element which is coated with multiple dielectric films on the surface of optical element to make a certain band interference superposition, so as to enhance the reflectivity of optical element. This kind of mirror has high reflectivity, can be used in a wide wavelength spectrum region, the film does not absorb light, the film is hard and not easy to damage, and is suitable for multi-wavelength laser optical system.
The manufacturing process of such mirrors is complex and requires the use of advanced coating processes such as electron beam evaporation and ion assisted deposition. Its advantages are high reflectivity, low Angle sensitivity and high cost. It is often used in optical systems such as continuous wave and nanosecond lasers to improve the performance and stability of the system.
Dielectric film mirrors are widely used in optical instruments, laser applications, military applications, display technology.
