Plano-concave cylindrical lenses
Plano Concave Cylindrical Lenses, as indicated by the name, is a special cylindrical lenses with one flat surface and one concave surface. Unlike spherical lenses, which converge light into a spot or expand a spot in two dimensions, Plano Concave Cylindrical Lenses can only expand light in one dimension.
The function of a plano-concave cylindrical lens is similar to that of a plano-concave spherical lens, but a plano-concave cylindrical lens can only work on one axis. These cylindrical lenses are used in applications where point sources need to be shaped in a one-dimensional direction. A typical application is to use a cylindrical lens to convert a collimated laser beam into a linear beam. A pair of cylindrical lenses can be used to shape the image. To minimize spherical aberration, when the beam diverges, the light should come from the lens. The surface is with incident angle. Plano-concave cylindrical lenses are often used for beam expanding applications
Nova offers plano-concave cylindrical lenses from various materials such as fused silica, BK7, optical glass, BaF2, CaF2, MgF2,LaF3, LiF ,Zns and ZnSe with circular or rectangular dimensions or other custom modules. Coating options include: uncoated, MgF2 single layer, V-type, broad band AR coating or customized.
